Games
Mathematics is more than just arithmetic,
algebra, calculus, etc. If not, mathematics would truly be boring.
Mathematicians love mathematics because it is a game. A fun game. It
is the mental processes involved in solving problems. Whether the
mathematical problem be applied (example: determining the path of a projectile)
or theoretical (example: proving that the square root of 2 is not rational),
mathematicians love to exercise these mental processes to solve new problems.
The thrill of solving a difficult problem is akin to the thrill of scoring a
winning touchdown, or hitting the winning home run. For
myself, I know this to be true, for I am a mathematician that loves sports and I
have felt the thrill from both. Below are a list of games that require problem
solving skills. Have fun playing them.
